Terrarara Performances I
Play, perform, activate

An ongoing body of work from Yimbaya Maranoa Art Collective's camping residency in 2024, held on Gunggari Country close to the Maranoa River, south western Queensland. Hosted on the pastoral property "Terrarara" the collective experimented outdoors at night with light drawing, large scale projections and ephemeral installations, facilitated by Meanjin-based photographer and visual artist Marian Drew (www.mariandrew.com.au).

Working post camp with resulting materials, a series of studio-based digital collages and audiovisuals is emerging. Once again, attending to time on Country as more-than-human existential encounters within a multiplicity of temporalities is the lens for story-building. In costume, bodies shape-shift and the vital agencies of inanimate objects are released into tangling, overlapping or disruptive speculations, which always, if not obviously, connect back to the Maranoa.
